Following the previous post and the perverse fascination that can perform the fiction of Ballard, I thought back to the many tributes to what one might call the culture crash, start personally a few years ago with the reading of novels of Hubert Selby and photographs by Larry Clark, who recently made controversial during their visit to the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris (they were exhibited some years ago in the European house of photography without any hubbub). I then decided to expand this theme related to the accident, destruction, fires on a few post through painting, photography, or film. And as we begin with the introduction of a series of nineteenth painter Thomas Cole, the Fate of Empires, which presents five tables in the decline and the ravages of civilization and the degeneration of society that occurred in the territory and landscape. So watch a little tour d'horizon these landscapes of violence and hatred that is usually agreed to ignore, but whose aesthetic is sometimes quite staggering.
