"The crawler-transporter is a tracked vehicle used to transport the space shuttle since the assembly building at NASA until Launch Complex 39. They were originally used to transport the Saturn rockets 4 and 5 during the Apollo program, Skylab and Apollo Soyuz. Currently they are in service to transport spacecraft. The carrier track-door mobile launching platforms and after each launch comes in the base assembly. 
We're not sure if we can talk about or speculate on the relationship between the tracked vehicles and architecture or urban planning, but why not?.
